Organising a Community Event

Organising an event or activity in your local area as part of Glasgow 850 allows your community to play a meaningful role in this milestone year for the city.

Join our Mailing List

It's an opportunity to strengthen relationships, particularly with underrepresented people in a local area, showcase local talents and ideas and increase visibility of your group, while contributing to the Glasgow 850 year of celebration.

By participating, your group not only marks and reflects on the city's rich past and growth, but can also help shape its future, ensuring that the voices and stories of your community are heard and remembered.

Groups and organisations do not have to create brand new events for Glasgow 850. Weaving a particular Glasgow 850 theme, whether its history, future, culture, local changes or traditions, these can be spun into established activities to increase impact, profile and connection with people.

We would also encourage organisations to consider collaborating with others including schools, local businesses, charities and cultural groups. These partnerships could provide additional resources, expertise, and support for your event or help turn an idea into reality.

Our free to use Glasgow 850 Brand Guidelines can help give more visibility to an event and show support for the programme.

If you'd like to promote your Glasgow 850 event you can use the What's On Glasgow network for free. The Glasgow's website url is What's on Glasgow via their Online Form. Please make sure that you include reference to Glasgow 850 in the event title and description to help people searching for Glasgow 850 related events.
